Leaving JMA CTF team for good

Few days ago, I left JMA CTF development team. Today, I sent this message in their Discord to clarify things. I am doing a blog post to have this message as a reference:

Hello Hello everyone. I would like to make an official statement here about leaving the CTF development team.

One night, Marko and I had some argues in our internal development chat. We exchanged some bad words. And I decided to leave. After that, I felt peace. Like a burden is off. I no longer have a responsibility. Few hours later, when anger faded out, I realized I need to apologize from Marko. I did so the next day and Marko also apologized from me. Things became cool between us again.

But I didn’t join back the CTF development team. Not because I don’t want to work with this team. But because I cannot carry burden of responsibility in the current situation.

I’m not sure how many of you know this. I’ve been with CTF for so so long. We have history together for more than a decade. And I really enjoy working on game development. The players are nice and kind. Marko and Finn are really cool guys and I learn much working with them.

But given the situation we have here in Iran, I am not in a good mental state to carry an additional responsibility. First, me family are not in a good place about health problems. Second, the economy here is collapsing. Third, the country is way unstable and this adds to stress and anxiety. So while I really love to develop CTF, doing so at this time is just me undoing. That’s the real reason I have left the development team.

Hopefully, things won’t stay the same on me side forever. When things get better, I would love to join back to add more and more fun to CTF. For now, “I have to survive so I will have a chance to fight another day”

I am also very much thankful to everyone who helps CTF stay alive and flourishing. This includes the developers and also the non developers. I still play on the server and for few hours, I get disconnected from this horrible world. 🫀
