There is a conspiracy against me and Lisp

It was night. I had fired up Emacs and was about to write some Common Lisp code to add new features to the msim code. I wanted to add detective and doctor roles. But before I write any code, a big BOOM came. They are using new kind of missles now? It was like a frightening earthquake. Then the second explosion came.

Me parents ran into yard. I shortly joined them. When we made sure there won’t be anymore, we got back in home. And I got back to the computer.

It was that moment which I realized there is a conspiracy going on. Many languages today are heavily backed by corporations. But Common Lisp is not. It was that moment which I saw it through the Source, the US military is allied with the US tech giants to stop me from writing Common Lisp. Because Common Lisp could be a potentional threat to many languages out there like Rust backed by Mozilla and Go backed by Google, among others.

But that didn’t stop me. Nothing can. I am so strong with the Source and I am called “Master” Patata for a reason. Yeah! I continued writing the simulation code.

PS: Many of Iranians have an excellent ability to laugh at their miseries and make jokes. It seems I also have got the power!

Where did Farooq go?

People following me development activies might sometimes wonder where did Farooq go. During the last 12 months, we had many major events in Iran. And thanks to the fantastic regime we have got in here, we were disconnected from the World for some periods. They closed the Internet on us. Why? That needs another post.

So when there is no Internet, the commits won’t be pushed. And in such environment, surviving is hard. Let alone staying productive. That’s why there are not so many commits. I am really trying me best.

Now if you are wondering why me activity is so low on Github, I should let you know that these days I’m mostly active on Codeberg. And I use Github usually for contributions to other people’s projects.

The Iran War

Iran’s regime kept us in darkness for so long, closing the doors of Internet on us, and heavily censoring DeltaChat instances within Iran. They do not want people to exchange information among themselves inside Iran. And they also want to block the information flow to and from Iran.

I total agree the Iran regime is not the only entity benefiting from Internet outage. I have written a separate post about that in me Persian blog, as it’s more fit for Iranians than for foreigners.

Mental pressure

As much as we look happy from the outside, the truth is we are just hiding the real thing, also from ourselves. It’s actually better for us like this. We always laugh at our sufferings from the very beginnings when the US sanctions started. But the truth is, the mental pressure on us is high these days.

But what makes it worse, is words of foreigners outside Iran, about us, our government and our country. They unknowingly make judgements with great error. And they hurt us a lot. It’s very much natural given that they are not in here to realize what is it like to be an Iranian living in Iran. They even do not understand what is it like to be an Iranian living outside Iran, away from your people and homeland. And an Internet outage making it worse…

I received such these words from multiple online friends or coworkers as soon as I found a hole to connect to the Internet. Humans do make mistakes. One of the close friends apologized. Some didn’t apology nor they took their word back. It greatly hurts.

What happened inside the country, in early 2026, made us drop enough tears. And they pushed many of us into mental illnesses, if we already weren’t in that valley. We still smile though. And go to work and try, really try, to be productive. Oh and we are talking about who have enough to put in their belly! For many others, mental health is not really a thing to care about. Oh a full trashcan is spotted! Let’s see if we can find a piece of bread or cake in there!

The medias

Remember these about medias:

Medias are master at deceiving. And if they are smart, they do so by telling you the truth, however not all of it. I’ve written in me Persian blog, I’m writing it again in here: An incomplete truth can be more misleading than no truth. A capital “Q” becomes a capital “O” if you put a hand to hide its tail.
As much as you can, get news from people who are directly dealing with the things. If not, you have to get news from multiple diverse sources and then try to analyze them. If you still don’t want to do that, then stay an ignorant who is aware of their ignorance as Socrates puts it.

The sides in war

And in wars:

If someone is fighting a demon, not always they are an angel fighting.
If someone is fighting an angel, not always they are a demon fighting.
Most entities in this world are not pure good or pure bad. They are not only black and white but something in between and close to one of the sides.
Entities which are mostly good, still would make mistakes or even do bad things.
Entities which are mostly evil, still would make good things or do good things, even great things.
Between two evil demons, there is often a demon which is less evil. The wise human chooses the least bad.
Entities often don’t stay the same, they might be good turned evil or vice versa.
Entities which do good, not always do good for the sake of it. But their own benefit.

There are often questions “Who did that?”. As a mere citizen, you often cannot reach the source(s) or even get near them. But in big games, you can often make an educated guess who made that move. The question you have to answer is that who benefits most from it? And who gets most hurt? Of course, it doesn’t always show the truth nor it might be very accurate. But most of the time, the arrow hits very close to the mark.
